The inspiration for this ceiling makeover started with this gorgeous six sided eglomise mirrored medallion that is to die for. We paired it with this flamboyant Flambeau chandelier to bring in a twist of fun for this focal point. The surface of the ceiling is a California knockdown so we wanted to spice it up with built up trim in a pattern on the ceiling that compliments the medallion. We chose a flat chair rail with a rolled base that’s 4 ½” wide and placed another 2 ½” piece on top of that to give the trim molding a very detailed look. The spaces inside of the molding will be painted a beautiful subtle light turquoise, Rick’s favorite color, and the border around the medallion and wall perimeter will be covered in a darker turquoise wall paper that is embellished with clear crystals in a flowing curly pattern. Stay tuned for more pictures each week and then comes the furnishings.

Thanks for tuning back in to see the finished results, as you can see Rick is very happy. Once the ceiling was completed we were so glad to find out the settee’s were on their way from Hickory, NC from Old Hickory Tannery. As soon as the Painted Room finished the faux  giliding on the ceiling trim we had the delivery team move the new furnishings into the living room which I am hence forth calling the “Salon”. Another happy client, Yea!!!
